Christy Claxton Out of Nowhere coverSelf described as a singer/songwriter, Christy Claxton from a listener's point of view plainly has a terrific voice. Her debut album Out of Nowhere is all original songs, so she does indeed write the songs she sings so beautifully. She's been compared to Joan Baez, and her voice does sometimes have a quality similar to early Baez, but Christy Claxton has her own sound, make no mistake about that.
After college, Claxton spent some years climbing the corporate ladder until she decided to follow her heart into music. She's backed up by a band called The Dirty Blondes. The band is guided by Chapman Stick player, Brett Needham. Needham?s grooves are locked in by drummer Chris Gardiner. Gardiner is a veteran of local country bands, but her heart is in R&B and rock.
